How Long We Keep Information

  • Client files. Missouri Supreme Court Rule 4-1.22 requires us to securely keep a client's file for six years after the representation ends, unless we agree otherwise with the client. We keep files longer when the rules require it, for example while a claim, investigation, or lawsuit related to the matter is pending.

  • Inquiries from people who do not become clients. We keep this information only as long as reasonably needed to respond, follow up, and meet our legal obligations. Basic details, such as names and the parties involved, may be kept longer in our conflict-check records, which law firms maintain to avoid conflicts of interest.

  • Website analytics. Technical and analytics data is kept according to our providers' standard retention settings.

How We Protect Information

We use reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards, and our providers use industry-standard security such as encrypted (HTTPS) connections. No method of sending or storing information online is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.
